Our first modeling job!

So Isabella got her first modeling job the other day! it was for a really fun and cute fall themed shirt and necklace set.  We went to a park in Granada Hills and took such ADORABLE pictures, it was so much fun! It was great quality time and boo had a great time playing (and eating) the leaves and pointing to all the dogs running around.  We have another booking already and I am so excited! Here are some of my favorite pictures from her first shoot!

Halloween

Hello out there in blogger land! I know it's been simply forever since I've posted... I know epic fail on my part. But please forgive me, it has been absolutely INSANE here! First about three weeks ago my father in law passed away. He was an amazing father, husband, brother, and father in-law, and his passing took a big tole on his family.  We were able to gather around and say good bye to him in the Sierra Mountains in a beautiful ceremony, and we are lucky that we can go and visit him on family camping trips, so he can still share in all of our wonderful family memories. So if that wasn't enough to consume my time, right before my father in-laws passing I got a new job (no more stay at home mommy for me :( ).  Its a supervisory position, so all the training and everything has me running around like mad trying to balance work and family. So with all that I have had little time to do much of anything. BUT, hopefully things are starting to wind down enough that I should be able to get back to a better pace.

Now on a happier note... Isabella got her first modeling assignment! We're going tomorrow to model a fall themed shirt thats absolutely adorable! Once the pictures are done and edited I will post them for everyone to see the cuteness that is my little Izzy boo.

And finally, as you all know Halloween just passed! It was a lot of fun over here, Isabella was a bumble bee and had a great time trick or treating. I didn't make her costume this year... I might give it a go next year but we'll see how my nerve goes.  We went as a family and Isabella had so much fun going with her cousins. She wanted to wave goodbye to everyone! And once she learned that those thing people were giving to her were treats, there was no stopping that little busy bee! All-in-all it was a great Halloween and I've posted some pictures here to document our fun night. And stay on the look out for new items coming soon and a better pace on my part.

Modeling

Along with placing Izzy in some modeling referral pages on facebook (if you have a boutique or know someone who does please book her either from boutique beauties or classy couture models, we're still waiting for our first booking) I also decided to list my page Pamela's BOWtique, feel free to look us up on facebook, ;) with some agencies as well.  I chose my first model and got the CUTEST pictures ever. These pictures made me really want to set up a full photography studio in my spare bedroom, a plan my husband doesn't know about yet but has unofficially agreed to by telling me I get a new Mac computer and editing software for Christmas. I put the photo collage below and yes these bows can be remade and are for sale under the "shop" tab. I can't wait to see what other amazing picture we get, and hopefully take!

Modeling

So in my ever lasting quest to find cuter and cuter outfits for my little one at a great cost I found a few "boutique model referral" these are facebook pages where mom's send sample pictures of their little ones and this company sends them to custom boutiques. If the boutiques think your child could model their cloths nicely they send the outfit to you and you take pictures, edit them, and send them back, the boutique then uses the pictures for advertisement.  The best part...THEY PAY YOU IN THE CLOTHS!!!! So you end up getting an outfit worth $$$ for free! And since its yours if you don't like it or once your little one grows out of it, you can sell it online and you get 100% profit because it was free! I am so excited for this opportunity, because not only do I get to be creative and crafty, spend time with my Boo Boo, but we also get amazingly adorable custom outfits!!!!! I just sent in the sample pictures of Boo Boo, so everyone keep your fingers crossed that they get approved and we get some cute outfits! I also signed up as a boutique so get ready for some super cute models on the blog and my FB fan page!  And by the way don't forget to "Like" me on FB at Pamela's BOWtique!

Update

It has been a crazy couple of weeks since I started this blog, a lot of bow making and crafting (check out the two new bow tutorials I put up), ordering the supplies for my little butterfly's 1st birthday (YAY!), and just your regular mommy stuff.  Today I went and purchased all the supplies to make an upcycled custom outfit for Izzy to wear when we go and get our pumpkins for Halloween! Stay posted for detailed instructions on how to do a FULL upcycled outfit for your little one.  And along with that I've been brainstorming some Halloween, Thanksgiving, birthday, and Christmas crafts so stay posted for new tutorials and sales items to be coming soon!  Until then I wanted to leave you with a cute picture of my butterfly with her first pigtails!!!!

My First Custom Outfit!

Now I was a crafter long before I became a mama, but my daughter has kicked my love of crafting into overdrive.  I especially LOVE the custom boutique clothing people made for children that I see all over facebook and etsy.  I have ordered a few but most of the ones that really catch my eye are too pricey for me so I have been relegated to just admiring these works of art.  Until now!  My dear little girl is turning 1 in December (I can't believe how time flies)! And I decided I wanted to do a lady bug themed first birthday party for her (stay posted for the ridiculous amount of blog posts and tutorials that are going to come from this crafty noggin in party mode) and I wanted her to have a lady bug themed outfit to go along with her party.

So I searched all the websites and put out blanket custom orders on forums and no one could offer what I wanted, so I made the choice to attempt to make one ( a lofty idea for someone who had beyond remedial experience with a sewing machine). So I planned and planned, thought and rethought until I had created the perfect design for my baby girl.  I decided to not have the word "birthday" on it anywhere so she could wear it more than once, and so I would be doing all this work and putting myself through all this stress. So with my plan in mind I set out for what would become multiple trips to my local craft store. I bought the fabric, the paint, the appliques, the thread, and the supplies to custom make an applique (the tutorial of which is in the tutorial page) and set out to make my first custom outfit.  So I pinned, and stitched, and restitched, and restitched...and restitched, ironed, cut, drew...and drank (just a little) ;) and finally after two straight days--that's four nap times in toddler time I had my first complete custom boutique outfit I could be proud of, and while it's not perfect by any means I think it is beyond acceptable for the first try.  Now I have the custom clothing itch so be prepared for full tutorials and sales items soon!
